Centro Luz

Acrylic on wood panel, 36 x 48

This painting was painted on location at the southeast corner of Navarro and Houston. Usually I only need about three hours on location to do a paint-sketch and get all the detail I need. I finished the piece at home with fluorescent paints. There are details done in "clear" fluorescent paint that can only be seen with a "black light." All the people depicted are "real" folk who walked swiftly by as I took a mental 'snapshot' and sketched them as quickly as possible.
